In her own words:
"Hi there! My name is Gina Marie and I am the artist behind Sunshine
Gardens! Four years ago, I started this business selling only handmade
jewelry, but it has expanded to feature accessories, gifts, patches, and
original artwork as well. I love doing custom pieces as well! All of my
work is inspired by nature - colorful wildflowers, raging rivers, green
leafy vines - and is all completely unique. Living in the breathtaking
Appalachian mountains provides year-round inspiration for me. I strive
to create beautiful works of art that are also affordable, because I
strongly believe everyone should be able to shop handmade!!

Creativity is a beautiful thing, and I am fortunate to have creative
genes - my mama is a painter, and both my papa and grandpapa were
jewelry makers! I love creating and making things, and hope my work
brings you joy just as it does for me :)"
In her own words:

"My name is Tori. I live and craft in South London. I am passionate about
fragrances and started my company: The Secret Scent Societé a year
ago. Before then I had studied Natural Perfumery. I make bath, body and
home accessories with a strong emphasis on unique, superior fragrances
using natural ingredients sourced locally. I have created my products to
reflect a sense of luxuriousness and glamour.

I joined Etsy in August last year, and it's been great for networking
and getting my products some exposure and it's also helped me improve my
photography and to gain inspiration for new products I'd like to add to
my range. I'm currently working on a body souffle.

The inspiration for my name The Secret Scent Societé came from my
desire to make Bespoke Fragrances for people and I offer a Bespoke
Service for my candles, where people can create a candle to suit there
home or working environment or to give as a gift. You choose your candle
colour, your container, and I create a signature fragrance exclusively
for you. This service has been a very popular choice with my clients and
they are always delighted with the outcome.

I'm currently offering a 10% discount on my Etsy page on all container
candles including bespoke orders with the online code: SecretScents10."

In her own words:

"I pride myself on writing easy-to-follow, thorough patterns that any
level of crocheter can use and feel proud of the item they've created.
While most of my patterns are items for babies and toddlers (rattles,
security blankets and small dolls), I do have a couple of patterns for
grown-ups, like my Louis CK doll and Louise from Bob's Burgers.

In addition, last year, I started a fundraiser, in which I created a
doll and pattern modeled after a special boy who was awaiting a heart
transplant. I sold the pattern for $5 and donated all the profits to the
family. It was enormously successful (by my standards, anyway), so I
decided to do another one this year, and will do one next year, too.
This year's fundraiser is for a little boy named Owen, and his doll is
the Super Owen (the pattern can be found on Ravelry)

I keep my prices on my patterns low so that everyone can afford them. My
feeling is that these designs are not terribly complicated or intricate
and they are fairly priced for what they are. Also, if you are happy
with the pattern and the price, you are more likely to come back and buy
more. And, honestly, I'm not trying to get rich here, just make enough
money to support my yarn addiction and buy patterns from other
designers. "
My name is Maite and I own Tamsy Trends, a handmade jewelry shop on Etsy. I am a stay-at-home mom and a self-taught jewelry artist. I have always loved crafting but my journey with jewelry making started a few years ago when my youngest child started elementary school. I found myself finally having a little extra time on my hands and decided to picked up a jewelry making book and starter kit on a trip to a hobby store. My thinking then was I would learn to make a couple of necklaces and bracelets for myself and my kids and if my end products were good enough, I would give a couple to my relatives as Christmas gifts. Well, needless to say, I got completely hooked and I did not stop making jewelry since then.

When I create, I always try to make simple but elegant pieces. I go for fun, color and versatility, rather than just following the latest trends and my goal is to create classic pieces that do not quickly go out of style. My favorite materials are Swarovski crystals, pearls and a variety of colorful gemstones like turquoise, chalcedony, amethyst, agate and tigereye.

Where to find Tamsy Trends:
Etsy shop: www.TamsyTrends.etsy.com
Blog: tamsytrends.tumblr.com
FaceBook: www.facebook.com/TamsyTrends
Twitter: twitter.com/tamsytrends

Visit Tamsy Trends

Indie Craft Corner Editorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16993230239018390845noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8948996750312686675.post-74323685002405172842011-02-02T10:34:00.000-08:002011-02-02T10:43:42.404-08:00sstormster: Taken By Storm Nature PhotographyIn her own words:

My name is Sarah Rose Storm and ever since I can remember I have been crafting and love all things handmade. My name is Jana, aka Banana. My ETSY shop is BHANG-TIEZ. I have been making jewelry and things with strings since I can remember. Hemp is now my string of choice, as it is natural, strong, and friendly to our earth. My love of macrame came after I received some old macrame magazines from my grandmother. Now anytime I am in a thrift shop I look for old macrame books and magazines, and am still amazed at the all things created just using knots and string. My most recent book is on Macrame Gnomes and Puppets, although I have not attemped one yet.

I love selling on ETSY. In my shop you will find many one of a kind macrame creations. I have created my own Water bottle holder and Bandana designs too. I like to paint little wooden eggs as cute, brightly-colored animals, especially cats (although, I'm building up a collection of dogs too). They can be left as figurines, or I can add hooks and ribbon to make a sturdy ornament.

Customizations are welcome, whether you'd like a green penguin for your green room, or a personalized ornament that looks like your own pet. Valentine's Day wine and pink animals are already here for you early birds!

In addition, I also have some cards, bookmarks, and clip art available. As a working mother I never knew how I could possibly do it, but now ETSY makes it possible for me to give it a go (along with the fact that my two wonderful children are now in college!).

I am a full time physical therapist and a part time designer of new and altered clothing, accessories, and mixed media art. I learned to knit in 5th grade and to sew in 7th grade. I have continued learning new creative techniques my whole life.

I love to make my projects with unexpected materials. I like fresh items that are romantic and glamourous with a bit of glitz mixed in. I want my products to be the perfect addition to an outfit that will make the wearer feel this shows the world who she is as an individual.

My inspiration tends to come from anywhere. I love to read about other artists and designers not to copy but to learn. I might wake up with the design for a gorgeous dress in my head, or watch a movie with extraordinary costume design that I will adapt to a piece appropriate for today, or I may notice an interesting sign, poster or outfit and my brain will start churning--how I can incorporate this into my own design? My journal and sketch book are always with me.

The designs I am most excited about right now are my Free Lace Scarves and my Fabric Flower accessories. My Free Lace Scarves are made with a technique using Mokuba Free Lace Sheets and various fibers. I love choosing different fibers that I feel will coordiate beautifully together. I never know until the final step exactly what each piece will look like, as the fibers are layered and you dont get the full effect until the Mokuba sheets are gone. I have always been pleased with the results.

Lately I have been having a lot of fun making fabric flowers to use on various accessories. I learned the technique for making these flowers at a great art class taught by the very encouraging and talented artist Pamela Huntington. I started out using them on necklaces then branched into earrings, headbands and hairpins. I have even used them on a Christmas Wreath. They can be made with a multitude of colors and combinations. It seems each one I make is my new favorite!

Where to find Studio 8789:
Etsy
Facebook
Twitter

Visit Studio8789

Indie Craft Corner Editorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16993230239018390845noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8948996750312686675.post-58581518730418641252011-01-24T10:33:00.000-08:002011-01-24T10:43:02.123-08:00MY Cinta: Lucite Fashion Accessories and JewelryIn her own words:

Hi!!! Im Melanie Yasmin from MY Cinta, I love to design and create cool and fashionable accessories and jewelry. I absolutely fell in love with lucite and started experimenting with different designs.

My favorite lucite jewelry I made, is the custom ID name as a request from a customer. I really love this because it's very special and one of a kind. I also made cuffs with different words as a fashion statement.

All my jewelry is made completely by hand. It takes time a lot of time and patience but I love it :) MY Cinta jewelry can be a perfect gift for friends, co-workers, family, and for yourself. I'm Mayene (pronounced "my-yen"), owner of MADE Design & Crafts on Etsy. I'm a graphic designer and violin teacher hailing from San Francisco, California that (obviously) has a love for doughnuts. I initially opened shop in September 2010 with simple original art illustration prints, and then decided that if I did anything on the side, I might as well take time away from the computer, since I spend AT LEAST 8 hours a day in front of one.

A lot of my craft work and designs is heavily influenced by but not limited to "kawaii" style items ("cute" in Japanese). I spend a lot of time creating and improving upon little plush charms that I've grown up being attracted to in shops but never had the money to buy as a little girl, as well as thinking up ideas for children's educational resources and stories (such as my fabric ABC book and mini ABC pillow set as seen on Etsy and donut story coming soon). Many other ideas are set to go into production this year such as a plush version of Settlers of Catan (I'm a board game and video game geek in addition to much of my nerdiness)!

Outside of Etsy, I also offer design services and critique. I do wedding album design and photo retouching/editing on the side and have other creations such as custom playing cards.

SPECIAL PROMOTION: Purchase ONE felt plush donut ornament (listing for set of 3 donuts is NOT included in this special promotion) listed in my shop and get one free OF YOUR CHOICE. I have found that iris folding works well with birds since the strips of paper mimic feathers. My favorite materials to use are old magazines and advertisements because I can usually find some neat patterns or colors that solid paper from the craft store would not provide. Also, I like using anything that would normally be thrown out so these projects are mostly eco-friendly. Most of the work is framed, but I plan to add more unframed artwork so that you can choose what kind or color frame you want.

Visit FlockingTogether

Indie Craft Corner Editorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16993230239018390845noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8948996750312686675.post-13952320580316631722011-01-21T09:32:00.000-08:002011-01-21T09:46:19.112-08:00Felicity Lingle: Original Art, Stationery and OrigamiIn her own words:

Hi! My name is Izabella and I am the designer and creator behind Fifi du Vie, a name that I came up with in the middle of the night and just ended up loving (pronounced fifi doo vee). All prints in FDV are designed and screen printed by hand using an emulsion process for the screens and acrylic ink. I absolutely love working with my hands and fell in love with the manual process of screen printing over a long, lazy summer in college. I am self taught and have a lot of tricks that I have accumulated through the years.

I have been creative my entire life, owing to my artistic parents, and love learning new crafting and building techniques. After studying architecture in college, I became enamored with furniture and home decor. Fifi du Vie grew from that love. I strive to make home decor that is accessible, affordable and humorous. I believe that objects take on experience and life, and that everything in your home should be personal and loved!

Fifi du Vie is having a huge sale right now with items up to 50% off!

Where to find Fifi du Vie:
Etsy
Facebook
Twitter
Blog

Visit Fifi du Vie

Indie Craft Corner Editorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16993230239018390845noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8948996750312686675.post-25643495051880195752011-01-18T13:06:00.000-08:002011-01-18T13:16:49.067-08:00Chocolate and Ribbons: Clipboards, Wallplate Covers and Personalized ItemsIn their own words:

Hi everyone! We are Donna and Chancely a mother-daughter team out of South Carolina! Chocolate and Ribbons started as a lollipop favor store in January of 2010 and after several months on the vacation the shop was reopened as a personalized and ooak gift store in December! Our store is somewhat eclectic in the various styles we offer which exhibit our clashing personalities! Chancely prefers items with an old world, vintage feel such as our upcycled vintage map switchplates and clipboards. Donna prefers a brighter, more modern style such as some of our animal prints and personalized items! We hope you have time to stop by and visit our shop. If you have an idea that isn't listed send us a convo as we LOVE custom orders!

They also run a vintage shop and a jewelry shop on etsy.

Visit Chocolate and Ribbons

Indie Craft Corner Editorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16993230239018390845noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8948996750312686675.post-10805834383612856352011-01-17T13:03:00.000-08:002011-01-17T13:14:38.702-08:00Ginger Kelly Designs: Fantasy Artwork, Illustrations, Jewelery and One of a Kind Clothing DesignsIn her own words:

I am a Graphic Artist, Illustrator and Fashion designer living and working on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.

I love things that are mythical, delicate, detailed, whimsical, fun, remind me of dreams or of places I've been & fallen in love with.
My inspiration comes from folktales, childrens storybooks, fairytales, Pre-Raphaelite art and vintage photography.

I work in many mediums, though I prefer to work in pencil or using digital painting and digital photo collage techniques. Many of the artworks in my gallery are photo manipulations/collages using my own photography and/or royalty free stock images generously provided for use by the photographers/models.

My clothing designs are one-of-a-kind. Each piece is carefully handmade from fabric scrap to fantasy ballgown and everything in between.

I love embroidery inspired by nature, classic feminine style, as well as traditional ethnic designs and patterns. My designs are unique, romantic and inspired by the natural world around me.
For many years I have dreamt of being able to support & express myself through my artwork and design. I hope to make this dream a possibility by sharing with you the art & beautiful things I love. My name is Jordan, and I own the etsy shop JordanRou. I do a lot of art doll and collage work, which is what you can find in my shop! I have been hand-sewing dolls since I made my first sock doll at age 8, and that intrest has evolved into the much more elaborate dolls I make now. All of the dolls in my shop are still sewn by hand, and each is completely one of a kind. All the dolls I make have a fantasy theme - I absolutely love fantasy novels! I have been experimenting with collage elements as a part of my artwork only very recently, but I really like the direction that is headed! I'm a member of etsy's ADO (Art Dolls Only) team, and you can see more pictures of my work on their website, artdollsonly.com My dream is to one day be able to support myself through my art. I love Etsy, because it's helping that dream come true!

Right now I have a sale on my children's and summer dolls, through December 31st! I also recently added some Christmas ornaments to my shop, which are all priced under 10 dollars! Be sure to check it out!

Visit JordanRou

Indie Craft Corner Editorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16993230239018390845noreply@blogger.com0
