Hi! My name is Maite and I own Tamsy Trends, a handmade jewelry shop on Etsy. I am a stay-at-home mom and a self-taught jewelry artist. I have always loved crafting but my journey with jewelry making started a few years ago when my youngest child started elementary school. I found myself finally having a little extra time on my hands and decided to picked up a jewelry making book and starter kit on a trip to a hobby store. My thinking then was I would learn to make a couple of necklaces and bracelets for myself and my kids and if my end products were good enough, I would give a couple to my relatives as Christmas gifts. Well, needless to say, I got completely hooked and I did not stop making jewelry since then.

When I create, I always try to make simple but elegant pieces. I go for fun, color and versatility, rather than just following the latest trends and my goal is to create classic pieces that do not quickly go out of style. My favorite materials are Swarovski crystals, pearls and a variety of colorful gemstones like turquoise, chalcedony, amethyst, agate and tigereye.

I like to paint little wooden eggs as cute, brightly-colored animals, especially cats (although, I'm building up a collection of dogs too). They can be left as figurines, or I can add hooks and ribbon to make a sturdy ornament.

Studio8789: Handmade Accessories, New and Altered Clothing

For many years, I have dreamt of having my own small shop where I can sell my designs and fun vintage treasures I find along the way. As a working mother I never knew how I could possibly do it, but now ETSY makes it possible for me to give it a go (along with the fact that my two wonderful children are now in college!).

I am a full time physical therapist and a part time designer of new and altered clothing, accessories, and mixed media art. I learned to knit in 5th grade and to sew in 7th grade. I have continued learning new creative techniques my whole life.

I love to make my projects with unexpected materials. I like fresh items that are romantic and glamourous with a bit of glitz mixed in. I want my products to be the perfect addition to an outfit that will make the wearer feel this shows the world who she is as an individual.

My inspiration tends to come from anywhere. I love to read about other artists and designers not to copy but to learn. I might wake up with the design for a gorgeous dress in my head, or watch a movie with extraordinary costume design that I will adapt to a piece appropriate for today, or I may notice an interesting sign, poster or outfit and my brain will start churning--how I can incorporate this into my own design? My journal and sketch book are always with me.

The designs I am most excited about right now are my Free Lace Scarves and my Fabric Flower accessories. My Free Lace Scarves are made with a technique using Mokuba Free Lace Sheets and various fibers. I love choosing different fibers that I feel will coordiate beautifully together. I never know until the final step exactly what each piece will look like, as the fibers are layered and you dont get the full effect until the Mokuba sheets are gone. I have always been pleased with the results.

Lately I have been having a lot of fun making fabric flowers to use on various accessories. I learned the technique for making these flowers at a great art class taught by the very encouraging and talented artist Pamela Huntington. I started out using them on necklaces then branched into earrings, headbands and hairpins. I have even used them on a Christmas Wreath. They can be made with a multitude of colors and combinations. It seems each one I make is my new favorite!

Hi!!! Im Melanie Yasmin from MY Cinta, I love to design and create cool and fashionable accessories and jewelry. I absolutely fell in love with lucite and started experimenting with different designs.

My favorite lucite jewelry I made, is the custom ID name as a request from a customer. I really love this because it's very special and one of a kind. I also made cuffs with different words as a fashion statement.

Hello! I'm Mayene (pronounced "my-yen"), owner of MADE Design & Crafts on Etsy. I'm a graphic designer and violin teacher hailing from San Francisco, California that (obviously) has a love for doughnuts. I initially opened shop in September 2010 with simple original art illustration prints, and then decided that if I did anything on the side, I might as well take time away from the computer, since I spend AT LEAST 8 hours a day in front of one.

A lot of my craft work and designs is heavily influenced by but not limited to "kawaii" style items ("cute" in Japanese). I spend a lot of time creating and improving upon little plush charms that I've grown up being attracted to in shops but never had the money to buy as a little girl, as well as thinking up ideas for children's educational resources and stories (such as my fabric ABC book and mini ABC pillow set as seen on Etsy and donut story coming soon). Many other ideas are set to go into production this year such as a plush version of Settlers of Catan (I'm a board game and video game geek in addition to much of my nerdiness)!

Flocking Together: Artwork That Combines Iris Folding and Collage

Hello, I am the owner of the etsy shop FlockingTogether where I sell original artwork that uses iris folding and is inspired by nature. I have found that iris folding works well with birds since the strips of paper mimic feathers. My favorite materials to use are old magazines and advertisements because I can usually find some neat patterns or colors that solid paper from the craft store would not provide. Also, I like using anything that would normally be thrown out so these projects are mostly eco-friendly. Most of the work is framed, but I plan to add more unframed artwork so that you can choose what kind or color frame you want.

Hi! My name is Izabella and I am the designer and creator behind Fifi du Vie, a name that I came up with in the middle of the night and just ended up loving (pronounced fifi doo vee). All prints in FDV are designed and screen printed by hand using an emulsion process for the screens and acrylic ink. I absolutely love working with my hands and fell in love with the manual process of screen printing over a long, lazy summer in college. I am self taught and have a lot of tricks that I have accumulated through the years.

I have been creative my entire life, owing to my artistic parents, and love learning new crafting and building techniques. After studying architecture in college, I became enamored with furniture and home decor. Fifi du Vie grew from that love. I strive to make home decor that is accessible, affordable and humorous. My inspiration comes from folktales, childrens storybooks, fairytales, Pre-Raphaelite art and vintage photography.

I work in many mediums, though I prefer to work in pencil or using digital painting and digital photo collage techniques. Hello everyone! My name is Jordan, and I own the etsy shop JordanRou. I do a lot of art doll and collage work, which is what you can find in my shop! I have been hand-sewing dolls since I made my first sock doll at age 8, and that intrest has evolved into the much more elaborate dolls I make now. All of the dolls in my shop are still sewn by hand, and each is completely one of a kind. All the dolls I make have a fantasy theme - I absolutely love fantasy novels! I have been experimenting with collage elements as a part of my artwork only very recently, but I really like the direction that is headed! My name is Gabrielle. I am a mama of two wonderful and inspiring little girls, wife to my amazing husband, avid crafter, bookworm and owner of Sweet Baby Jane's.

I have always been a creative person. My Grandfather was my biggest artistic influence when I was a child. He was a set designer at one time and was always sketching little things for me and my siblings. He set the foundation for my love of art in all forms: drawing, painting, dancing and any other method of self expression. My Grandmother and Mother were both avid sewers and taught me the craft at an early age. With their guidance I was soon creating everything I could!

Not much has changed. After the births of our daughters I was passionately inspired to direct my artistic focus to the creation of Sweet Baby Jane's. HI!! My name is Adrine and I am with A.L. Designs. Initially, I went into art in order to design unique pieces for myself to wear. However, in time, I came to fall in love with it and started exploring the various crafting techniques. I just can't stop doing them everyday! I always love something with flowers, plants, birds, fairy and things that are natural.

I have been playing with clay for 5 years and I still love it. The clay is where I search for different techniques to be used on my current designs. :)

Sometimes I like something cute not just glam style. I think they can be interesting as well. I am hoping to create something as real as possible with clay. They look amazingly real like edible food. As for fairy I always feel a link between me and them so I like to make them as if in nature.

I am someone cheerful and very happy with my 6 babies (not real babies) - 2 dogs, 1 bunny and my 3 hamsters. :) To me my pets are like part of my family. I have wonderful friends I always admire, and that have gone through thick and thin with me. :) I don't know if this is crazy dream ... but I do think of helping as many animals as I can when I am financial very stable. Everyone deserve a second chance to lead a better life. :)

My shop name is "besty" because I decided to embrace the most common misspelling of my name. I officially opened in September after years of dreaming. Joelle's Doll: Unique Handmade Cloth Dolls

I grew up near Buffalo, NY, and loved playing with dolls as a child. I still own many of those dolls.
My mother taught me how to sew when I was a little girl. I have been making OOAK handmade cloth dolls for about 7 years. The part of creating a doll I enjoy the most is deciding what type of character they will be: how their face will look, what they will wear, their personality.

My characters have included mermaids, witches, nuns and pirates.

In addition to selling my dolls on etsy, I sell them at about a dozen arts & crafts shows per year, primarily in Upstate New York. Craft shows are fun because I get to see how excited the little girls (and big girls) get when they spot the dolls. One girl started dancing in my booth because she was so happy. Often, when people visit my booth, they see dolls who remind them of people they know.
The inspiration for Joelle's Dolls comes from people I've seen and from my imagination.

Our names are Sarah and Tiff and we started Mistle and Toe, an eco-friendly design store. We are from Ohio and Minnesota respectively and became fast friends when we met in college. We started this as a Design Collective for both ourselves and for a few of our creative friends that will be joining us as the months go on. We love the creative possibilities and challenges of upcycling things to keep them out of the landfill and still make them beautiful! There seems to be a stigma around re-using goods, and we love the challenge of re-thinking and re-creating them into purposeful things once again. There is always a surplus of stuff, so what's not to create?

When we are not creating wares for Mistle & Toe, Tiff is working on her own strategic sustainability consulting business to help small businesses and non-profits integrate sustainability and green initiatives into their organizations. That and training her little rescue dog :) And Sarah is doing community outreach for a charter school in Troy, NY.

My name is Lindsey. I live in Port St. Lucie, Florida with my husband and two sweet girls. I am a kid at heart. I still like to play in the sand, make orange slice smiles in my teeth and build blanket forts. (Having kids is a fantastic excuse for a good blanket fort!)

I chose the name Elephant Trunk Studio because my favorite things to draw and paint are elephants. Elephants are smart, loyal and thrive in a family setting. Hi, I'm Jacqueline and I make art under the name Hip and Clavicle. I cut and sculpt 3d butterfly wall art from paper in a variety of colors, and when I'm not doing that I'm either in my studio or in the woods with a camera in my hands. Through Hip and Clavicle I express my affection for all that's dreamy, romantic, nature-inspired, and just a little bit dark and surreal.

At the heart of it, I’m a life-long romantic and tomboy; art is just another version of turning over rocks to see what’s there. I get my hands into any materials I can find and take the greatest pleasure in simply exploring new materials and revising designs.

I find inspiration in dark woods, moss-covered bark, and wild fields. I daydream constantly and long to live in a treehouse. If I were a piece of music, the instrumentation would include a piano and a harpsichord.

Hi, my name is Dawnmarie and I think every girl, young and old, should have at least a little bit of glam!
I am a single mom and have the four most wonderful kids in the world! My baby (who is now 8 years old) is Andrea. I tell her all the time that she will forever be my baby, even when she is all grown up. This is what inspired the name of my boutique, Forever Andrea. We also have a Siamese cat named Blue, who thinks we can speak Siamese! She talks to us a LOT!

Jewelry is my passion, and I frequently lose all track of time while creating a new piece and listening to some Eva Cassidy. Before I know it, it is 3AM ! I adore lots of different kinds of crafts. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was only about 8 or so, and I am such a tactile person that the softest yarn always wins my heart. I have recently fallen in love with paper and beautiful fabric. I started making some really lovely bookmarks using textured papers, fabric, ribbons and other embellishments. I also dabble in bath and body products, and make some velvety body/massage oil among other things.

I live in the beautiful state of Utah, and she is my muse. Rugged snow capped mountains on all sides, brilliant crimson and indigo sunsets, golden aspen forests and red rock deserts provide me lots of inspiration. Plus, I really like sparkle. Sparkly is my favorite!!

My name is Victoria, I am 26 years old and by day I am a PhD student studying cancer biology, by night I am a jewelry designer. My name is Jacqueline. At JacquelineJewelry I am the owner and designer as well as the chief cook and bottlewasher! I live in New York City; one of the most vibrant urban areas of the world. New York is not totally the big city that outsiders think of it. It's made up of small neighborhoods and you get to know your neighbors just like in a small town.  

I'm fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time designing my jewelry and home decor accessories. I started my Etsy shop at the beginning of June 2010. I got started when I was working in a craft gallery and was inspired by the crafts and jewelry that I worked around. I work in my home studio creating one-of-a-kind jewelry and some home décor accessories.

I have explored many artistic concepts over the years, from the ideas of impermanence and transience to the theory of the preciousness and sacredness of the everyday. Now I create jewelry and home decor that is accessible to both casual crafts enthusiasts and serious collectors. I hope the forms and materials I use will appeal to people on many different levels. Treating each jewelry piece as an individual work of wearable art, I create and sell timeless art meant for day into evening wear.  

I am inspired by my inner creativity and I love looking at all kinds of different artwork and crafts. I know it sounds strange, but I am inspired by the materials I work with. I love color and texture and like to see what happens when I put different materials together.

My advice to other artists is to understand the need for promoting your work. With jewelry on the Internet and on Etsy, there is a lot of competiton and it’s important to feel comfortable with putting yourself in the spotlight.

I have had careers in pottery, graphic design and industrial design. Ever since I can remember, art in some shape or form has been my passion. I am a graduate of The College of Ceramics at SUNY with a BFA in sculpture and art history, an MFA in Arizona State University in environmental design, and an MID in industrial design from Pratt Institute. A perpetual student, I am self-taught in jewelry. I have also written and had published two books: Graphic Illustration in Black and White and Polymer Clay; Creating Functional and Decorative Objects.

My name is Mercella. I’m originally from Connecticut but I currently live in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. I majored in economics but my true passion is designing jewelry. I create unique gemstone jewelry in my Jewelicide shop and cute and kitschy jewelry in my Allysin shop. I think that I have always been a bit of an entrepreneur. Even as a young child, I made and sold various handcrafted items. I started my business in 2000 at the age of 12 by making beaded jewelry and selling it at my mom's job. I started my Etsy shop because I felt that it was the next step for my jewelry business. I also heard that Etsy had a great community where I could get criticism and feedback.

My inspiration for Jewelicide comes from many different things such as, the changes in the seasons, the flowers in my front yard and my travels to various countries. I am also inspired by trying to find that perfect piece of jewelry for the right outfit. The inspiration for Allysin comes from raves and the types of jewelry I wish I had in middle school and high school. MakeDo and Mend: A world of strange Beings

Hiya! I’m Jessica Elizabeth, by day a very hard working textiles student in Nottingham, UK and by night (and weekends and often by day too) I am a designer and maker, working under the name MakeDo and Mend – my favourite textiles quote. I love making things, have been sewing since the age of 11 and have a very VERY loud inner child. These factors all collided and earlier this year I started making what I call Beings. They’re not human, nor animal, and nowhere near angry enough to be monsters. They are simply Beings, making day to day life that little bit more bearable for us hardworking folk.

Most of the Beings that inhabit my world have long legs, or arms or ears, so they can be wrapped around you, giving you a warm hug (as I type Big Gary is curled around my neck, keeping out the winter chill!) and many of them have square faces and square eyes. We watch a lot of TV at my house! My favourite fabrics are fake furs in neutral shades and bright coloured, bold patterned cottons and poplins.

I started my Etsy shop at the beginning of October, after planning and making since July. As everything is completely handmade and hand designed by me I tend to list new items every four or five days as I like each Being to be very carefully made and I always end up loving them so much it is a wrench to sell them! I plan to be making and selling very far into the future – at the moment I have a sketchbook full of designs for my next Beings! – And ultimately I’d love to run my own shop, stocking Beings and other wonderful creations.

I’m a jeweler and I make pendants,earrings and cufflinks primarily out of beer bottle caps collected from local bars. I usually work with beer and soda bottle caps but also incorporate tea tins and soda cans into my designs. The bottle caps are punched out and then affixed to a nickel silver disk so that the image of the bottle cap is preserved, but it is not immediately identifiable as a bottle cap. I am also able to do custom orders for people with a favorite beer or bottle cap in mind!

In addition to re-using jewelry materials, I use earth friendly “plastic” labels made from cornstarch and packaging materials are made from recycled post-consumer waste.

Petit Ange: Beautiful and Cozy Neckwear

I remember my wonderful grandmother teaching me how to knit. I would sit on the floor next to her chair with my own skein of yarn and I would knit and purl and make lots and lots of knots. Eventually she not only taught me to knit, she taught me kindness, patience and love. So here I am, a grandmother myself, teaching my own grandchildren to knit. I still feel my Gram's love all around me and think that must be what living forever is all about; passing it on.

I think my love of fiber comes from those first lessons. The warmth of the fireplace, leaning against Gram's knee, the feel of the soft wool and the occasional touch of her hand showing me the way. I guess Petit Ange is just another way of passing it on. Thanks, Grammy.

My favorite item is this year's design, The Comfy Cowl. I prefer the taupe one but I have seven colors listed right now with more on the way. It's just so attractive and versatile, you can wear it as a cowl or pull it over your head for more coverage and warmth.

I named my shop "AllureByU" because it delivers an attractive, desirable, appealing kind of connotation.
Every woman is beautiful and gorgeous and I hope that my ideas, hard work and LOVE put into each and every piece of jewelry that I make will help them to achieve this in a special way through my creations.

Everyone starts off differently! I got started in the designing business by accident. I got inspired by all the other crafters and artists while shopping and browsing through the internet. That train of thought ended with the determination to make my own beautiful creations!

Sewing Maniac: Quilts for Babies and Children

I am a substitute teacher for grades K-3. Love the little ones! I also have 2 beautiful grandsons, 4 and nearly 6. I had one quiet daughter, so these boys are a big surprise--they are SO busy!
I have been sewing since I was very young. Mom gave me a needle and thread to sew with while she embroidered or did hand mending. My first garment for money was when I was 9 years old and made her friend a maternity dress. I love to create quilts! I enjoy seeing the patterns develop as I go along. I also love a great fabric sale so I stock up on fabric then. That helps me keep my prices affordable.

How to choose a favorite quilt! I guess because of my interest in education, I would pick my I Spy quilts. They aren't as pretty as the others, but are so much fun to play with. I can't wait to make more--I've found more fun fabrics to add!

Zach Medler did not develop an interest in art until he was in his early 20s. A native Hoosier, Zach grew up in the suburbs of Indianapolis and graduated from Wabash College with a degree in religion. He went on to receive a master’s degree in ceramics from Purdue University in 2004 and has been working in his current combination of media since 2008.

He has exhibited solo shows nationally and his work is represented by several galleries around the Midwest. In addition to making art, Zach conducts workshops regionally and teaches regular classes to adults and children at Arts Place in Portland, Indiana. My artistry is all about choices of bold necklaces, bracelets and earrings that you won't find anywhere else. I love putting together different colors and shapes of gemstones and glass to create a unique design for my clients. My inspiration comes from the colors and gemstone qualities.

charmed design 1012 - Modern Handmade Charm Jewelry

I am a 42 Atlanta,GA native that is now living in New Haven, CT. I have lived here a little over two years now. While living in Atlanta, I had a successful, but not fulfilling, career as a lawyer. So, when I decided to move to New Haven, I also decided to leave that behind and make a brand new beginning in a career that would make me happy. When I first arrived, I got a job at a wellness center as their marketing manager. My new job included graphic design and writing and this really appealed to my creative side that had been stifled for so long.

About a year ago, I became ill from an infection that was a side effect of a routine tooth extraction. I came very close to dying, had several life saving surgeries, and am blessed to be here today. My first bracelets came into being as something constructive and positive to do while recovering from this sudden and life threatening illness.

Although I lost my job, home, and life as I knew it, surviving such a near death experience has made me feel and believe that I am indeed - CHARMED. My jewelry reflects my experience and love for life. I am inspired by signs and symbols that are all around us and that, if we let them, can uplift and guide us.

My name is Linda. I live in Blaine, MN (A suburb of Minneapolis.) I have two grown sons and I work full time in manufacturing. I started my shop because I've always had an interest in creating pretty things. Back in the 70's & 80's it was sewing costumes, macrame and crocheting. I often joke that starting my Etsy shop is my feeble attempt at a retirement account. I'll never make a million $ entertaining the masses with my singing or acting so... Etsy is the best forum. I love when someone identifies their own personal taste or style in my work. The thought that my designs are in homes, business and cooking classes around the world gives me a great thrill.

About the shop name:
My shop is named after my Swedish great grandmother, Elsie, who for many years lived in Mpls in a building with many adjoining 2-story homes. The spooky dark brown building had a flat roof and it was referred to as the Flats. To bring in extra income, she made and embroidered pillowcases, dish towels, tablecloths. Back in the 50's, she charged $2 for a set of pillowcases. She got me started.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! I’ve recently set up a section in my store with Pink aprons. A percentage of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Susan G Komen foundation to support Breast Cancer Awareness, research and prevention.

I have always loved art and creating new things. I started out making jewelry for myself, and slowly the people around me began to notice the jewelry I was wearing and wanted items for themselves. So I began teaching myself different techniques and slowly my hobby turned into a small business. Every item I make and sell in my shop is something that I would personally love to wear for myself. I live with my partner and my 13 yr old son who has Asperger's syndrome. I have always been interested in Arts and Crafts and was taught by my mum from a very early age how to knit.
Due to my son being severely bullied at school I found I had no other option but to home educate. Thanks to my very supportive family things are finally getting back on an even keel and with my son more settled I found I had time on my hands for the first time in years.

I got involved with a charity for bullied children and my mum and I started making crafts to sell to raise money for this. Recently my partner told me about etsy and we decided to open a shop on there, I have to say I have truly loved it. I love creating new items from new ideas and view my shop as "my happy place".

About our shop:
We are a family concern and my son came up with the name "Jarg0n", he also writes most of the item descriptions, my partner is the family "Geek"(apart from my son) and helps me with all things techie, my mum crochets and I knit.

My name is Oonah, I am 34 going on 18. I was born and raised in Berkeley Ca and believe it or not I still reside here, I cant get enough of the cultural diversity! I have always been interested in arts and crafts. I have been fortunate enough to have a mother who is as well and has taught me many arts and crafts skills including crochet. My love of all things Japanese has driven me to amigurumi and putting a Japanese bent to most of my work.

I honestly can't remember when I started crafting. I suppose seriously I would say maybe in high school. I started off by crocheting hats and scarfs for myself and friends. I got into amigurumi crafts a few years back when I found a amigurumi magazine in the San Francisco Japan town book store. I could not resist how cute the patterns were and how different from anything else I had seen.

My most favorite item in my shop is the Amigurumi Baby Fish. It is also my store mascot. I created almost all of the patterns that I work from. But this one I figured out all by myself and I think its pretty darn cute. I am very proud of it. Also my clip on ears are very popular. I am not a fan of headbands and wanted to create a product that looked like you actually have animal ears growing out of your head. People of all ages seem to get a kick out of them. They are perfect for a good game of cat and mouse!

I'm a mom of 2 yrs old energetic son and a wife to a wonderful husband. I'm a paper-addict and I wish I have more time than 24 hours a day so that I have enough time playing with papers.

For as long as I can remember, I always love papers. It started with me collecting stationery when I was in elementary school. I bought and traded beautiful and cute designs of papers but it’s unfortunate that they are not acid free and a bit yellowish now.

In early 2004, I started to make my own handmade papers. This however did not last too long. I realized that if I wanted to continue making papers I needed an open and bigger space to do all the mixing and drying where small apartment might not be ideal in this case. At the same time, a colleague from work invited me to a stamping party and ever since then I’m hooked in cardmaking and scrapbooking.

The StarShine Shoppe is all about spreading starshine and moonbeams-- a little magic and a little cheer. I've always loved bright colors and whimsical designs and these are built into all of my pieces. For spring and summer, I'm working on a variety of different pieces tied together by the theme of an enchanted fairy garden. Most recently, I've been working on fairy dust necklaces, fairy houses, terrariums, miniature flower gardens, and tiny fairy butterfly garden wreaths.

My shop is all about bright colors and sparkly rhinestones. Currently my focus is on rhinestone illusion statement necklaces. I love the bold look that they give to an outfit, and the effect that they create is really fun! I got the idea fairly recently, back in late November 2009, made a few to experiment, and posted them up at my Etsy shop. They got a lot of great reviews right off the bat and I've been making them ever since. I'm now working on expanding my shops inventory with different products, but I'm still experimenting with those ideas, so I don't think anything new will be posting for another month or so. Hello from the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts!

How did I get started doing what I do? I have been creating handmade work for as long as I can remember. I believe I started out as a child making mud pies and graduated to creating objects out of whatever I could find. My interest in making things led to two stints in arts school once at Ohio Kent State University for a B.F.A. and the other in Illinois at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale for an M.F.A.

Why jewelry? Jewelry is one creative from that is woven throughout my career as an artist. I love to wear it as well as create it. My process is mostly intuitive and starts with color, texture and form. I decide ahead of time if the piece is to be a pair of earring, bracelet or necklace and assemble each work as a composition. I like to be thoughtful about what I am doing so the best approach for me is to work alone when it is quite. The materials that interest me the most are all sorts of fiber (crocheting and knitting are other passions) semi-precious stones, metal glass, bone and silver pmc (otherwise known as precious metal clay).

Hi, my name is Arianna and I live in London, UK. Petite Chacal is my creative space where I can go crazy doing crafts. Although I mainly do jewellery I like to try and put my hands on different types of crafts, as I’m intrigued by all the possibilities of the “handmade revolution”.

My jewellery reflects my idea of life, most of the times sligthly asymmetric in its simplicity. I work with different media, including polymer clay, semi- precious stones and lately silver clay, and I really like to explore new things;I just wish I had more time to do everything! My real passion is metal, and I’m finally planning to have a go at silversmithing very soon. My creative process is totally emotional, I rarely plan something, most of the times I just let my hands go and..” follow the urge”.

By the end of this year I’m planning to broaden my range of products , adding some T-shirts (that’s where it all started, together with my boyfriend ) and possibly some clothing accessories.

Little White Chapel is all about giving brides beautiful--and affordable-- wedding jewelry. I'm a newlywed myself and when I was planning, I was totally blown away by how expensive everything got once it was associated with a wedding. We're talking hideously overpriced. So once I got over my indignation, I decided to do my part to buck the trend and Little White Chapel was born. The shop features a combination of handmade and vintage jewelry and accessories. I try to make the handmade pieces extra special by using vintage parts, so it's like wearing a little bit of history.

My favorite materials are glass pearls, vintage aurora borealis beads, and vintage cabochons. I pay some attention to bridal trends, but I base most of my designs around my own vintage-y aesthetic. I've always loved doing needlework ever since my grandmother taught me how to cross stitch when I was little. Since then it's been a hobby but I always dreamed of selling my embroidery. I'm a housewife who's always loved to make things with my hands. I come from a very self sufficient family, and where creativity was very much a part of every day life in one way or another. Rabbit Whiskers: handsmocked, handembroidered, dresses

I am judy & rabbitwhiskers is the name of my shop and my creations. Thirty-three years ago when my daughter was born I taught myself hand smocking so that I would be able to dress her in smocked dresses. I enjoyed making smocked dresses so much that I didn't want to stop once my daughter could no longer wear them, so I decided to make them and try to sell them.

I was never particularly crazy about sewing, it was the designing part that I enjoyed. I quickly tired of doing the traditional smocking designs & began it imagine elaborate scenes that I wanted to add to the smocking designs. It wasn't long before I began to embroider little figures, like flowers,or butterflies & incorporate these into the smocking. I loved doing this and the combination of smocking & embroidery worked very well. I find that I love the designs that smocking creates, but I prefer the scenes embroidered for the depth of detail that embroidery allows as well as the 3-dimensional effects that can be obtained with embroidery.Over the years, the embroidery increased to the point that it's at today, where entire scenes are hand-embroidered into or over the smocked designs. The addition of embroidery to the smocking has given me so much freedom to create the pictures that I imagine will look cute on a little girl's dress, that I feel more like an artist, with the dress front being my canvas, and the embroidery floss, my "paint." While I'm still not crazy about sewing, I'm very motivated to sew these little girl's dresses so that I can see my creations materialize.

Each dress I make is a unique project that I see through from the beginning- choosing the fabric, to the end- hand-hemming the finished dress. My scenes are all hand- stitched free-hand as I go along. Making each dress is a total experience in which I become immersed, my mind being totally occupied with that particular creation. Every dress that I make is one of a kind. I don't use patterns for the embroidered scenes, nor is anything pre-drawn on the fabric. I look to nature for my inspiration, as well as nature pictures sometimes for ideas & guidance. I never think about the next dress until I am actually ready to begin making it. It usually takes me about two weeks to make a dress as the hand-stitching is very time consuming, the embroidery much more so than the smocking.

About two years ago I was given a camera for a birthday gift and immediately discovered my love of photography. I live with my bedlington terrier, Pascal and together we take long daily walks. I began bringing my camera with us on our walks and very quickly built a collection of wonderful nature photographs. In looking at them I thought it was a shame that I am the only one able to enjoy them, and then it occurred to me that I could make them into notecards to sell and in that way, the pictures can be enjoy by lots of people. I absolutely love making note cards. My only regret is that I don't have two sets of hands, one to be working on dresses and the other to be making notecards!

Hello Me is a one person shop, just "me" working with my two vintage sewing machines. A New England native originally from the Boston area, I love natural fabrics, particularly cotton, as well as tactile and textural fabrics. As a visual artist myself, I love a great print. When not using prints, I often integrate my own applique and screenprint designs, as well as fabric manipulation and embellishment into my work.

I don't use patterns and create my bags from scratch. I like my bags and purses to be distinctive and spend the time to try to make them interesting and unique. Hi. My name is Jennifer Sneed of Valiant Studios and I love photography. I currently live in Callender, Iowa. I've had a camera since I was 15 and have always had an "Eye" for seeing things my own way. My fiance, Jeff, says that he can look at a tree and go, "That's just a tree." But, when I photograph it with my camera, he says that it turns into a piece of art. I use a Canon Rebel XL Digital SLR camera for all my photographs.

I only recently decided to market my photographs for sale. I joined Etsy April 2009 after hearing about it on a forum and have been loving it ever since. I sell my photos in all sizes from ACEO (baseball card-sized) to 12x18 and larger. I also sell photo gifts like metal bookmarks, glass tiles, mousepads, playing cards, greeting cards and more. I keep my prices low because I just love to share my visions with everyone! And, I love custom orders! If you like a photo, I can probably make it as anything that I offer! Just ask!

Why do I do what I do? I love nature and animals. Whenever I see something beautiful, I just have to share it. Life is so fleeting, like the momentary flutter of a butterfly's wings, and it makes me sad that so much life comes and goes without being noticed. When I photograph a flower or a spider or butterfly, I give that creature a chance to live on in my heart and the hearts of others through my pictures. I love sharing these tiny gifts with the world.

Besides photography, I collect model horses. I also love anime and video games. I have a weakness for bad horror movies! I love zombie flicks, too. I love to read and write stories as well!

I am engaged to a wonderful guy named Jeff and I have 2 boys from a previous marriage. Brandon is 13 and Kane is 12. They both are great artists and I feature their work in my shop whenever I can. (They have their own section of ACEO artwork). I have an adorably goofy German Shorthair dog named Sasami and an Eastern Painted Turtle named Zombi.

My name is Kelly and I have a dream . . . a dream that all the jewelry in my jewelry box should be easy to put on all by myself. This desire not to struggle with jewelry is one of the inspirations for Dream Free Design. Whether a creation is fun, funky or elegant all bracelets and necklaces have toggle, hook, or magnetic clasps so you can easily wear them.

My favorite items are the Un-Buttons earrings. They were originally inspired by wonderful sets that were marketed as three color coordinating mismatched buttons. I would buy them by the handful and mix and match. Since then I have added shaped buttons to the mix.

In addition to jewelry, I make various other crafts, which have begun to make their way into my shop from their home in the Closet of Forgotten Crafts. My grandmother taught me many of the crafts that I still do today. Every time I complete a project, I feel a renewed connection to her.

I'm a dog lover and owner of a cream Pomeranian named Koda. Bored with his average stainless steel bowl, I decided to decorate Koda's bowl to match the decoration in my house. I had already experimented with glass and grout on other objects and thought this would be the perfect medium to use for his dog bowl. I loved how his bowl turned out and decided to make more designs to sell. I enjoy working with glass, beads, and tiles to create different designs on the bowls. I’ve also learned to color my own grout. I love customizing dog bowls to match home décor. I also make leash holders, personalized treat jars, tile dog place mats and printable puppy cards.

I am a self-taught artist who loves creating retablos. In Mexican iconography a retablo carries special prayers and wishes to God. A
familiar retablo painting (on wood or tin) would have someone who is ill lying in bed beseeching the Virgin Mary for intercession to regain
their health. I have given these retablos my own perspective and hope these wooden prayers and watercolor affirmations touch your heart.

I also have available an original work of fiction/fantasy. This story is fully edited, and hand-bound into eight signatures with a hand-made, canvas cover. Creating this story, this book, has truly taught me the meaning of a "labor of love".

Hi there, my name is Barbara. I currently reside on Long Island, New York, where I have lived my whole life of 24 years. I am a stay at home mom to 3 year old twins. I have a love for jewelry and thought it would be fun to start my own jewelry business! I have a friend who purchased one of these awesome necklaces and I fell in love with it, however, her necklace was VERY costly. I wanted to try and make my own. After doing a lot of research the Hand Stamped Collection of Avaeli Couture Jewelry Designs was born! I began designing and stamping my own jewelry and it became an instant hit. I found that these pieces were being sought out, especially at a reasonable price. I wanted to make sure that I had a price point that most everyone could afford. I sell my jewelry via home shows and craft fairs as well as through my online shop. I am adding new pieces all of the time. I also do something quite unique and that is, anytime a customer of mine tweaks one of my designs or designs their own piece completely, if I love the finished look I will take a photo of it, name it after them and use it as part of my collection. This is a fun treat for my customers!

I have been on etsy since April 09 and am slowly but surely building my inventory. I work on artistic endeavors daily. I make jewelry, take photos, do acryclics and mixed media paintings and items. I like approaching my jewelry as art. Most of what I make is one of a kind and highly unique.

Hi! My name is Alice and I live in Alabama with my husband, three dogs and quaker parrot. At the moment, I'm having the time of my life creating little needle felted dogs. I have many standard breeds available in my shop, but my greatest love is for the custom dogs I do. This involves taking photos of the dog and recreating him or her into a 3" to 4" needle felted miniature. The enthusiasm I get from the dog owners is without equal and makes my felting more fun and fulfilling than I ever imagined. I'd love for your dog to be the next one I create! It seems that my life has been dedicated to sewing. I grew up in a Mennonite home in Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada. My Mother was an accomplished seamstress, mostly out of neccesity. With 8 daughters, and 6 sons as well, she sewed many dresses on her treadle sewing machine. They were made with only the most basic of patterns and then adjusted to meet the specific design requests of whomever the dress was for. They then had to be altered for the next girl in line and when there was no more life in the dress it was set aside to be incorporated into something else, probably a comforter or quilt. So, my earliest recollections are of "unsewing" instead of sewing as I patiently unpicked seams for Mom so that she could take-in or let-out or salvage the bits of fabric still intact. I never did manage the intricasies of the treadle sewing machine but it was when I finally received the longed-for doll with real hair and eyes that closed that I started my sewing "career". A careful sorting of the materials in the scrap bag would reveal just enough fabric for a pleated or gathered skirt or a simple little top and with needle and thread my doll soon had a wardrobe more extensive than my own! Years later while at school and with little or no money for clothing, I purchased a sewing machine and never looked back. My daughter was sent off to her first years in school wearing cute outfits....but she finally rebelled and asked for clothing like everyone else in her class! It was time to start satisfing my creative urges elsewhere! I started a home based business making and selling kitchen items. For years I mass produced pieced chair pads and matching placemats and runners as well as a variety of pot holders, tea cosies, wall hangings, table toppers and so much more. I'm now at the point where I enjoy the creative aspect of putting together unique items, often made from vintage linens found at local auctions, or piecing quilt blocks which I then prefer to pass on to someone else to complete. It's hard to predict what I may offer for sale. I'll let the fabric dictate to me what it should become and I hope you will like it!
