Sunshine Gardens: Jewelry and Artwork Inspired By Nature

In her own words:
"Hi there! My name is Gina Marie and I am the artist behind Sunshine Gardens! Four years ago, I started this business selling only handmade jewelry, but it has expanded to feature accessories, gifts, patches, and original artwork as well. I love doing custom pieces as well! All of my work is inspired by nature - colorful wildflowers, raging rivers, green leafy vines - and is all completely unique. Living in the breathtaking Appalachian mountains provides year-round inspiration for me. I strive to create beautiful works of art that are also affordable, because I strongly believe everyone should be able to shop handmade!!

Creativity is a beautiful thing, and I am fortunate to have creative genes - my mama is a painter, and both my papa and grandpapa were jewelry makers! I love creating and making things, and hope my work brings you joy just as it does for me :)"

You can find Gina Marie on Facebook and Pinterest.

Editor's note: Gina Marie has some great pieces in her shop. I'm loving this deer print. So sweet!

The Secret Scent Societé: Luxurious Highly Fragrant Handmade Bath & Body Products

In her own words:

"My name is Tori. I live and craft in South London. I am passionate about fragrances and started my company: The Secret Scent Societé a year ago. Before then I had studied Natural Perfumery. I make bath, body and home accessories with a strong emphasis on unique, superior fragrances using natural ingredients sourced locally. I have created my products to reflect a sense of luxuriousness and glamour.

I joined Etsy in August last year, and it's been great for networking and getting my products some exposure and it's also helped me improve my photography and to gain inspiration for new products I'd like to add to my range. I'm currently working on a body souffle.

The inspiration for my name The Secret Scent Societé came from my desire to make Bespoke Fragrances for people and I offer a Bespoke Service for my candles, where people can create a candle to suit there home or working environment or to give as a gift. You choose your candle colour, your container, and I create a signature fragrance exclusively for you. This service has been a very popular choice with my clients and they are always delighted with the outcome.

I'm currently offering a 10% discount on my Etsy page on all container candles including bespoke orders with the online code: SecretScents10."

You can find Tori on FacebookTwitterInstagramPinterest and on her blog.

Editor's note: I love that Tori uses vegan soy wax in her candles.  :)

Fanie's Boutique: Cute Cartoon Art Prints, Stationery and Original Art

In her own words:

"My name is Fanie and I am an illustrator from Montreal, Canada.
For as long as I can remember, I've always been drawing! I'm a child at heart and one of my favorite thing is to teach kids and teenagers how to draw.

My drawing style is very whimsical, cute and funny. :-) In my shop, you will find prints, greeting cards, original arts, magnets, PDF tutorials and everything that's related to the art of drawing."

You can keep up with Fanie on Twitter,  Facebook, and her blog.

Editor's note: I think it's great that Fanie has PDF instructional files on how to draw characters. And who wouldn't get excited over an amazing handmade Hanson Band Poster? I love it!!

HAM AND EGGS: Adorable and Affordable Amigurumi Crochet Patterns

In her own words:

"I pride myself on writing easy-to-follow, thorough patterns that any level of crocheter can use and feel proud of the item they've created. While most of my patterns are items for babies and toddlers (rattles, security blankets and small dolls), I do have a couple of patterns for grown-ups, like my Louis CK doll and Louise from Bob's Burgers.

In addition, last year, I started a fundraiser, in which I created a doll and pattern modeled after a special boy who was awaiting a heart transplant. I sold the pattern for $5 and donated all the profits to the family. It was enormously successful (by my standards, anyway), so I decided to do another one this year, and will do one next year, too. This year's fundraiser is for a little boy named Owen, and his doll is the Super Owen (the pattern can be found on Ravelry)

I keep my prices on my patterns low so that everyone can afford them. My feeling is that these designs are not terribly complicated or intricate and they are fairly priced for what they are. Also, if you are happy with the pattern and the price, you are more likely to come back and buy more. And, honestly, I'm not trying to get rich here, just make enough money to support my yarn addiction and buy patterns from other designers. "

You can keep up to date with Ham and Eggs via FacebookTwitterRavelryFlickr and Craftsy.

Editor's note: I'm just learning to crochet, but I so want to try this little cutie! What a perfect gift for a baby shower!

We're Back!

I’m sitting here on April 20, 2013 watching it snow. Seriously?

But, I’m excited – Indie Craft Corner is coming back! It’s been too long and there are so many fabulous artists out there to share!

There have been lots of changes recently – For example, I just got a new bunny and named him Wendell. And I’m totally including a picture of his cute mug in this post.  Hoping it will bring a smile to at least one person’s face after a pretty heavy week in the world…

So – if you want to be featured on this blog, simply click on the Submit button above and enter your info. Or, you can contact me on Etsy here.  New artists will start to be featured next week - so check back soon.

Hope it’s sunny where you are, and keep crafting!
